Enjoy a peaceful stay in an enchanting setting in our cottage “La Maison des Douves”.

In the heart of a green setting, opposite the castle moat, La Maison des Douves is a true haven of peace, where the subtle scent of roses mingle with the song of frogs.

We have restored this house with noble and authentic materials such as hemp and lime, wood and stone.

The garden is fenced. Paddle board, garden furniture and barbecue are at your disposal to enjoy the outdoors.

Thank you for your opinions !

It was a fantastic adventure. A truly unique stay. The whole region is magical, and our host couldn't have been kinder. We had a family photo shoot in and around the castle and discovered other wonderful places in the area. Charming little towns. Lovely people. Simply an incredible stay for our family. Thank you so much!

This stay was a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Gregory was a fantastic host! He gave us a thorough tour and told us the incredible history of the castle. He made sure we were comfortable and suggested an itinerary for exploring the Loire Valley the following day. The accommodation was exceptional: a 16th-century castle lovingly restored. Authentic furnishings with all modern comforts: very comfortable beds, underfloor heating, excellent water pressure; coffee, tea, and wine were also provided. We just wished we could have stayed longer! Thank you for this wonderful stay!

This castle was magical. The rooms were large, elegant, and perfectly in keeping with the building's history. The moat was ideal for boating, paddleboarding, and swimming. The outdoor space on the castle island was lovely, perfect for relaxing and dining al fresco. The indoor dining area was also very pleasant and beautifully situated. Our host, Gregory, was very friendly, charming, and informative. Overall, it was a wonderful place to stay.

If you're considering booking Le Châtelet, my advice would be to stop thinking and book it. Staying there was one of the most magical things my family has ever done together. Gregoire is a warm and friendly host and goes out of his way to help you understand the castle's history. The interior is an amazing blend of medieval and modern amenities. Lying in a candlelit bath in a medieval turret overlooking sunflower fields is just one example. The garden is beautiful, private, peaceful, and was super safe for our dog. The moat was a constant source of fun for our three boys, with a boat, paddleboard, and swimming available. There's also plenty to see in the area, but we saw far less than we planned because staying at Le Châtelet was simply too enjoyable. Thank you to Gregoire and his family for allowing us to stay at your magnificent Le Châtelet.

A truly authentic and historic castle, beautifully renovated and maintained, and in the same family for centuries. If you're looking for a piece of medieval history, this is it, with its defensive towers and moat where you can peacefully row a small boat. Add endless fields of sunflowers for color, rustic charm, and location, and you're close to many of the region's castles. Grégoire, the host, is very friendly and a proud owner who carried out most of the renovations himself, so you'll hear the castle's history and its little secrets directly from him. Highly recommended for having a little piece of France in your heart.
